ITINERARY

We will end the day by witnessing and capturing an extraordinary sunset from one of my favorite locations.

D A Y  1

We will meet by the afternoon in the lovely town of New Plymouth and head to our hotel accommodation, which will also be our base for our post processing master classes.

Our first photo session will be a sunset shoot along the beautiful Back Beach of New Plymouth.

After sunset, we will have our welcome dinner where we will get to know our group and discuss the weather conditions for the upcoming week.

D A Y  2

Rising before dawn breaks, we head out to witness and capture the pre-dawn colors along a lake. On a calm morning, the still water produces a beautiful reflection of Mount Taranaki at dawn.

A scenic flight over Mount Taranaki is scheduled later in the afternoon, which will take us up and over the volcano - granting unique and unseen perspectives of this land. A highlight of this workshop, this will be an experience to remember.

We will photograph sunset later in the evening along the stunning coast of New Plymouth, when the skies are clear we will even be able to see the mountains and oceans meet here.

D A Y  3

We will begin a three hour hike which will take us through a montane forest with subalpine scrubs. Our accommodation for tonight will be a DOC serviced hut. The hut passes will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own tent to camp out by our sunrise location which is about a ten minute walk from the hut.

These huts are equipped with heating, mattresses, and non-flush toilets for your use. We will arrive at our hut with plenty of time to spare before capturing an incredible sunset along Mount Taranaki.

If the weather allows, we will have an abundance of Astro photography opportunities here after dark.

D A Y  4

After a beautiful night under the stars, we will rise early to witness sunrise along the beautiful tarns overlooking Mount Taranaki. We will capture the first glimpse of light as it peeks through the mountains and greets us in its most amazing way.

After sunrise, we will hike back on the same route and have our much needed rest after.

We will witness sunset along the Te Rewa Rewa bridge in New Plymouth, one of my favorite locations here in this beautiful town. This is where architecture and nature meets in the most incredible ways.

D A Y  5

In the morning we will head for a short walk along Pukekura Park and photograph a gorgeous man-made waterfall.

We will then hit the road to get to the magnificent Dawson Falls where we will photograph and explore in the afternoon.

Following that, we will make our way to the beautiful Cape Egmont Lighthouse where we will spend sunset photographing. If the skies are clear, we might stay for some night photography and will take the hour long drive back to our accommodation after and rest for the night.

D A Y  6

We will photograph our final sunrise before heading back to pack our bags.

After our Farewell Lunch, with our memory cards and hearts filled, we will not say 'Goodbye' but 'See you again' as we take away yet another amazing experience and memory from our Lonely Mountain Photography Workshop together.
